Tasks

-Ensuring that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively -Supporting and managing estimating and cost planning activities, to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plans and overall development budgets -Applying value management techniques at the outset of a project -Producing accurate monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client -Supervising and mentoring junior and trainee members of the team -Conducting cost appraisal studies -Negotiating and concluding final accounts -Supporting and managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages (including pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation) are performed effectively -Undertaking value engineering and lifecycle costing -Taking a lead role in interfacing with the clients’ construction teams and other consultants at all project stages -Managing and quality checking Bill of Quantities and associated tender documentation production

What You Bring

-Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute -Pre and post-contract experience -Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) would be ideal -Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills (both internal and external) -Ability to run projects with minimal supervision and attend project meetings independently -A team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible, with ability to work on own initiative -BSc in quantity surveying or equivalent
