The Role

Overview

Manage site works, supervise team, control costs, ensure safety & quality on infrastructure projects.

Tasks

-Responsible for completing PDRs for all direct reports. -Plan, control and monitor the progress of the works and coordinate the section(s) of the project as allocated. -Ensure all site team and supply chain are working to the latest design information. -Manage multiple packages of work in conjunction with the commercial team taking full ownership of the costs for section of work assigned. -Conduct regular H&S checks and CDM audits. -Report to the Project Manager on progress and performance. -Identify/assist in introducing new process, techniques and innovations on site. -Ensure and maintain strict quality control procedures. -Implement and attend weekly and monthly site meetings. -Undertake material take offs where required and ensure materials are ordered and reconciled. -Ensure site team keep site diaries up to date. -Effectively lead and manage direct reports ensuring appropriate competence is maintained, including annuals PDR’s. -Attend external meetings as required with clients and stakeholders, building effective relationships. -Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and problems that may arise. -Undertake value engineering solutions. -Assist the Project Manager in administering the cost forecast, valuation and reporting systems. -Manage a section of works on a day-to-day basis including the supervision/monitoring of the site team/supply chain. -Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Permit to Work systems, site inductions and safety briefings are correctly carried out. -Monitor capability of staff and contractors to undertake current and prospective workloads and report to senior management. -Ensure any changes in scope (operations, commercial, programme or design) are captured and managed.

-Highly organised and able to prioritise multiple workloads. -Able to demonstrate alignment and work in line with the Galliford Try values - Excellence, Passion, Integrity and Collaboration. -Proven leadership and delegation skills. -Able to manage multiple or larger packages of work -Relevant CSCS card. -Advanced problem-solving skills. -Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages. -Desirable Part-qualified professional in relevant discipline. -Ability to read and interpret data, drawings specifications and schedules. -Likely to have previous relevant business experience or transferable skills gained in other areas. -Able to interpret, extract and disseminate works information relating to program of works. -Relevant experience in water infrastructure projects. -Adept at interfacing with site team, subcontractors, designer and the client. -Aware of individual Health and Safety Responsibilities and adheres to company H&S policy and procedures. -First Aid (Desirable). -Temporary Works Coordinator (Desirable). -A working knowledge of one functional area through job experience and training. -Strong knowledge of CDM 15 and NEC
