The Role

Overview

Oversees accounting, budgeting, reporting, compliance and insurance for a construction firm.

Tasks

-Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts. -Manage sales tax tracking and filing for all applicable states and entities. -Lead weekly budget reviews with project managers; adjust budgets as needed. -File all required quarterly and annual financial reports. -Maintain all compliance and licensing documentation; apply for new licenses and renewals as needed. -Oversee job budgeting and assist in preparation of job status reports. -Prepare monthly AIA billing and submit to clients; maintain records according to retention policy. -Oversee and update all insurance and bonding paperwork. -Follow up on accounts receivable monthly via email and phone communication. -Conduct monthly account reviews and close books in ERP System. -Oversee and maintain insurance policies and audits, including renewals and claim support. -Set up new jobs in system and ensure financial accuracy. -Address all company credit card issues, including fraud resolution. -Create and maintain master billing and change order tracking spreadsheets. -Manage all workers’ compensation and general insurance claims. -Submit Lien Agent paperwork and Wake County tax reports. -Troubleshoot and maintain accounting software systems. -Manage credit card expense reporting; identify any discrepancies or excessive charges. -Draft and manage customer change orders.

What You Bring

-Preferred: CPA or construction industry accounting experience -Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting -Required: Valid North Carolina Driver’s License -Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent experience -Ability to lead, train, and supervise others -Required: Five or more years in a similar accounting leadership role -Strong Microsoft Excel and accounting software skills -Exceptional attention to detail and time management -Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities -Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills -Ability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality and integrity
