Tasks

As a Facilities Technician, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the overall functionality, safety, and cleanliness of our student community. From responding to maintenance requests to executing preventative maintenance, your day-to-day will help ensure our residents enjoy a secure, welcoming, and well-kept environment. -Respond to maintenance requests and carry out timely repairs across apartments, common areas, and building systems. -Track inventory usage and assist with reordering tools, equipment, and supplies. -Maintain grounds and common areas to Greystar’s high cleanliness and presentation standards. -Assist in routine property inspections and report building or safety concerns to management. -Ensure statutory compliance is met and documented, including emergency lighting, alarms, and safety systems. -Monitor and supervise contractors and suppliers on site, ensuring safety and service quality. -Be part of an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies. -Support the make-ready process by inspecting vacated units, completing repair tasks, and preparing for new residents. -Provide professional, friendly service to residents, addressing maintenance concerns with care and urgency. -Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance across all essential systems — including lighting, fire safety, HVAC, and plumbing.

What You Bring

This is a hands-on position that requires both technical know-how and a strong customer-focused mindset. -Excellent communication and teamwork skills -Ability to obtain a favourable National Criminal History Check and Working with Children check. -Demonstrated experience in building maintenance or trades (e.g. electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting) preferably in residential, hotel, or student accommodation settings. -Physical Requirements: Comfortable lifting up to 12kg, climbing ladders, and staying active throughout the day while following safe work practices. -Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office & database management) -Qualifications or experience in trade skills across carpentry, painting, plumbing, or electrical (qualifications desirable but not essential)
