The Role

Overview

Oversee cost control, forecasting, and project controls for large infrastructure projects.

Tasks

-Ensures the preparation and updating of project cash flows and forecasting as required throughout the project life-cycle. -Performs performance monitoring and coordinates cost/schedule and quantity trends when required. -Attend and contribute to Handover and Kick-Off meetings. -Directly interfaces with management as necessary for cost control monitoring, analysis, and reporting. -Identifies commercial risks and develops mitigation measures to ensure project control deliverables. -Contribute to Risk Mitigation Plan. -Ensure you and your family receive the services needed to support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. -Ensures that tracking and forecasting, progress monitoring, cost reporting meet specific project requirements. -Oversees and supports project change management, including subcontractor claims, change requests, claims and dispute resolution. -Conducts detailed review and analysis of project performance control and reporting to understand and articulate key metrics and trending. -Hire, supervise, coach, develop and mentor project controls personnel (ie Project Controls Specialist, Lead, Cost Controller, Planner / Scheduler). -Set project controls guidelines and responsibilities within a business unit or Project Execution Plan. -Identify opportunities of Project Controls improvement for management review and consideration. -Performs cost data analysis and development. -Provide guidance to project controls and operations/project management teams to recognize emerging issues, leverage lessons learned and drive toolset/process adoption, ensure accuracy of key project metrics. -Supervise the implementation of Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures for control and integrity of work to be performed as defined by the contract.

What You Bring

-10+ years construction industry experience. -Proven strong analytical skills. -Proven problem solver with sound judgment who accepts ownership and accountability. -Detail oriented and customer focused. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly identify and articulate issues. -Proven ability to effectively lead project controls staff. -Proven experience and ability in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, estimating and cost control. -Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees. -Ability to produce, read and modify schedules and scheduling curves/reports. -Knowledge of SAP and required project controls software which may include Primavera, Hard Dollar, Accubid. -Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. -Experience in Quantity Surveying is seen as an asset. -Strong knowledge of the “Earned Value Management” principles. -Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent.
