Tasks

-Apply Codes and Standards to all designs (including working drawings and specifications) -Assist in business development by expanding on current client relationships, cross selling Syska services and by attending industry and clients events -Perform code interpretation -Perform calculations under Senior Engineer/Designer -Attend coordination meetings and job sites -Conducting peer reviews and provide QA/QC oversight -Produce clear and concise drawings consistent with client requirements and firm organization format and drawing standards -Conduct field surveys, system assessments, and system commissioning

What You Bring

-Possesses strong interpersonal relationship skills and strong communications skills both verbal, written and presentation -NICET certification in Fire Alarm or Fire Protection systems, preferred, or ability to obtained within 2 years of hire. -Open to travel to various project locales and meet project deadlines. -Knowledge of ICC, NFPA and Local codes and standards. Knowledge of NYC codes required -Multistate licensure is preferred, or ability to obtain within 2-4 years of hire -Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university in Fire Protection, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering discipline -The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively in a fast –paced, challenging environment -Experience in using AutoCAD-MEP, and REVIT to develop designs required - strong technical role -The ability to achieve security clearance from Federal Government (project specific) -Minimum of 8+ years field experience with previous experience in Fire Protection and Fire Alarm System design and Fire/Life Safety Consulting
