Overview

Design and develop structural engineering solutions for nuclear power plant projects.

Tasks

-Review vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solution. -Participate in project design/model reviews. -Originate and check structural deliverables of high complexity, including specifications, drawings, reports and calculations. -Interpret and verify industry standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables. -Participate in constructability reviews. -Execute schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product. -Report design quantities compared to estimated quantities. -Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in executing work as an integrated team.

What You Bring

-Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural or related) from an accredited university, with at least 8-10 years of relevant experience. -Ability to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally. -Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check. -Must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel. -Ability to resolve design issues with subordinates, other engineering disciplines, construction, and the client. -Familiar with the provisions of AISC, ACI, IBC. -Ability to issue a clear and concise direction to subordinate designers and drafters. -Experience with the use of MathCAD. -Proven work experience should emphasize design of heavy industrial-type facilities/structures on engineering projects from inception to handover. -Construction field experience. -Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings and specifications. -Experience with design using provisions of Eurocodes. -Familiar with the methods of procurement and control of bulk materials. -Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000 and/or NQA-1. -MS degree in Civil/Structural or related Engineering, from an accredited university. -Have a Civil Professional Engineering (PE) / Structural Engineering (SE) license. -Must be authorized to live and work in the US without sponsorship. -Experience in the structural design of port facilities, including elements such quay walls, piers, jetties, dolphins and/or coastal protection would be beneficial. -Ability to independently execute the detailed design drawings of structural / site systems of high complexity.
