Egis In Canada

The Role

Overview

Lead engineer designing airport pavements (runways, taxiways, aprons) to meet FAA/AASHTO/ICAO.

Key Responsibilities

  • pavement inspection
  • ndt testing
  • structural analysis
  • design software
  • quality control
  • technical reporting

Tasks

-Assess existing pavement conditions by performing visual inspections and employing non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, supplemented by laboratory evaluations. -Review contractor submittals and oversee quality control during the construction and rehabilitation phases. -Conduct pavement structural assessments using industry-standard software such as FAA FAARFIELD, AASHTOWare Pavement ME Design, or comparable tools. -Provide actionable recommendations based on detailed pavement evaluations and analysis to support project decision-making. -Conduct field inspections and monitor testing outcomes to verify that installations meet the specified design and performance criteria. -Determine optimal pavement thickness, material compositions, and layer configurations based on load analyses and design criteria. -Work closely with project managers, construction teams, and multidisciplinary engineering groups to ensure designs are practical and constructible. -Prepare comprehensive technical reports outlining design assumptions, evaluation results, and maintenance recommendations. -Incorporate sustainable design practices and innovative materials to enhance pavement longevity and reduce lifecycle costs. -Develop pavement design solutions utilizing advanced structural analysis tools and recognized methodologies. -Analyze pavement performance data to identify areas needing repair or reinforcement.

Requirements
