Electrical inspection, maintenance, repair, and testing of diesel/electric locomotives.
-Work non-standard hours or various shifts. -Work safely around potentially hazardous materials/machinery. -Work in varying weather conditions. -Start, stop, monitor operations, and make minor adjustments to machines. -Repair or replace high voltage equipment such as circuit breakers or transformers. -Troubleshoot, repair or replace electronic and microprocessor-based equipment. -Wear protective clothing. -Read manufacturers' manuals for technical information. -Install, disassemble, or replace parts or pieces of equipment or systems. -Read and interpret prints, schematics or wiring diagrams.
-CDL Not required, but helpful. -Must understand the principles of electricity. -Respond to changing work assignments. -Must be qualified to work on three-phase electrical circuits.
