The Role

Overview

Performs mechanical installation, maintenance, testing, and fabrication for R&D projects.

Tasks

-Adhere to NETL SARS policies and procedures while conducting work duties. -Collaborate effectively with other team members to resolve issues and ensure quality adherence principals are being met. -Set up and perform pneumatic and hydrostatic pressure testing. -Performs compressed gas cylinder deliveries. -Maintain active involvement in the introduction, revision, and/or promotion of ES&H/ISM program activities. -Perform non-code welding to fabricate or repair non-critical items and provide custom sheet metal forming/work. -Work safely under general supervision, exercise good judgement, and manage time to complete assignments. -Keep office space, operating area, control room, mechanical room, warehouse etc. clean and orderly. -Perform hoisting and rigging of large equipment. -Install common stock materials such as fasteners, struts, sheet metal, etc. -Must wear proper PPE as required and ensure PPE is in acceptable condition. -Installation of Swagelok fractional tubing, insulation, and tubing components such as valves, regulators, and gauges. -Perform penetrations and securing materials to assemble/erect structures, all per policy. -Operate forklift, manlifts, skid steer loader, etc. -Report all unsafe operations, and, if necessary, exercise stop-work authority in cases of imminent danger. -Use machine shop equipment such as a Horizontal / Vertical Bandsaw, electronic belt sander, and metal shear to cut metal. -Maintaining facilities in clean, safe, and orderly condition. -Use Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) to install threaded and flanged piping and other process equipment. -Installation of Autoclave Engineers cone and threaded tubing and tubing components -Observe and follow all corporate, federal, state and site environmental safety and health (ES&H) policies and procedures that pertain to the job classification being performed. -Use Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO) plans to ensure work is performed safely. -Attend all safety meetings and stay current with assigned required training.

What You Bring

-Good attendance, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a team or independently. -Able to perform all the typical repetitive physical requirements such as: walking, pushing, pulling, handling, grasping, kneeling, working overhead. -Such positions may involve routine lifting, up to 50 pounds. -Computer / Software Skills – proficiently utilizing Microsoft Outlook email, Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, payroll time entry, and complete required online training. -Able to work in awkward positions for extended periods of time or in confined spaces. -At least seven (7) years of job-related experience or equivalent. -Ability to understand Engineering drawings and documents that will allow for the safe and efficient installation of projects. -Hazard and situational awareness for ES&H risks associated with the work. Perform work safely in accordance with hazard controls. -Vocational/technical training beyond high school -Must have a valid U.S. driver's license. -Must be able to pass the NETL Swagelok certification test. (Company training will be provided.) -Minimum of five (5) years of job-related experience or equivalent. -Good verbal and written communication. -Constant use of vision and mental alertness is required. -Ability to follow oral / written instructions, exercise good judgement to complete assignments on time.

Benefits

-This is typically an 8-hour per day, five days per week daylight schedule. Overtime on nights, weekends, and holidays may be required to meet client needs.
