The Role

Overview

Assist senior QS in cost management, budgeting, valuations, and reporting for construction projects.

Tasks

-Assists in preparation of constructed cost management control budgets for projects as required to support achievement of corporate objectives. -Works with Project teams to coordinate acquisition of input information for the cost management process for projects. -Supports the design, implementation and maintenance of cost management programs and systems for the corporation. -Maintains relationships in the industry to facilitate the acquisition of estimating cost management data and processes. -Monitors Trade Partner Contract and purchase order awards, compares awarded costs to control budgeted costs & determines the bases for variances through change management processes. -Assists in preparation of services cost management control budgets for projects as required to support achievement of corporate objectives. -Maintains files of project cost management processes and supporting backup documentation for reference during project execution. -Supports the evaluation of historical data, including purchase orders, subcontracts, force reports and productivity reports and incorporate relevant data into company unit cost, material and labour factors. -Assists in review of Trade Partner change management submissions for validity -Prepares documentation to support the change management process for projects. -Assists in the engagement with project Trade Partners & Client alike. -Evaluates required bid analysis contents by reviewing requests for proposal, attending pre-bid meetings, taking minutes and communicating with project team to support the construction cost management phase.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. -Proficient experience in Microsoft Office Software -Good attention to detail & record keeping, with an analytical approach and ability to work using your own initiative & thinking outside the box. -Exposure to MEP and Cost Estimating systems a distinct advantage, but not essential. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills dealing with design team / Client (& Client Representatives) / Trade Partners / IPS Senior Management & meetings etc.
