Tasks

-Coordinate material planning to ensure timely delivery aligned with project schedules, including long-lead items and critical path materials. -Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. -Monitor and analyze industry trends and lead the implementation of best practices for supply chain. -Partner with internal stakeholders including project teams, estimating, and design phase leads to align supply chain strategies with project goals and timelines. -Lead the work of the buyer team, while establishing strategies for sourcing and supply chain with process excellence focus. -Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance. -Collaborate with category team on project proposal strategy. -Build on established supplier relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and productivity, while leveraging the combined buying power of Mortenson’s operations -Define sourcing initiatives in alignment with strategic plans and supply chain strategies. -Foster teamwork, collaboration, and integration within Supply Chain and across Mortenson to provide cohesive solutions and ensure effective delivery of strategy. -Collaborate across all business functions to formulate, implement, and execute sourcing and continuous improvement strategies. -Champion superior customer service by ensuring a customer focused approach and strong service orientation. -Responsible for managing and implementing short and long-term sourcing strategies to achieve business objectives for the Supply Chain function and contribute to Company-wide strategy. -When selling materials, participate in contract negotiations with assigned customers. Ensure contract compliance. -Support negotiations and maintain contracts and agreements with key suppliers and service providers, ensuring quality, reliability, and competitiveness. -Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.

What You Bring

-Current driver’s license. -Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. -Superior attention to detail and accuracy. -Proven people leader with experience in hiring, coaching, and mentoring a team of professionals to anticipate needs and achieve short and long-term goals. -Our postings are typically open a minimum of 5 days and an average of 44 days. -Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback. -Knowledge of construction processes, equipment and materials, purchasing processes and procedures. -Shown positive and professional attitude and strong customer service skills. -Experience driving process improvements and leading change initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and effectiveness. -Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience. -Minimum 7 years of experience. -Negotiating, organizing, planning, verbal and communication skills. -Ability to lead initiatives and influence decisions in a matrix organization. -Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. -Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
