Overview
Design and analyze mechanical systems for metrology products, from concept to production.

Tasks
-Perform hands-on assembly, testing and troubleshooting of prototypes to ensure design requirements are met -Drawing generation in accordance with ASME Y14.5M Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) -Support projects from concept to productions in close coordination with related departments and vendors -Conduct feasibility studies of designs and concepts using engineering principles and FEA software -Develop and coordinate with vendors to provide finished work that meets requirements -Develop assembly, calibration and compensation techniques. -Design of injection molded parts -Serve as a mentor to other mechanical engineers and designers in areas of expertise -Design of machined, sheet metal and cast parts -Guide and assist operations with creation of assembly instructions -Build BOMs for manufacturing and assembly -Serve as subject matter expert for product external design including industrial design, plastic molded part design and user interfaces -Industrial design and evaluation of products for improved product user interaction (UI/UX) -Analyze and refine high level requirements

What You Bring
-Surface modeling using Solidworks or similar CAD package -Mechanical design using Solidworks or similar CAD package -A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering -Key individual contributor able to work autonomously to support the design of new metrology instrument products. -Finite element analysis (FEA) using Solidworks Simulation or ANSYS -A minimum of 5 years of relevant mechanical/industrial engineering experience. Preference towards 10 years of relevant experience
