  • Participate in ICAM investigations and support the management of serious incidents.
  • Communicate compliance updates from rail regulators, industry bodies, and corporate legal teams.
  • Conduct routine audits of daily SHEQ documentation, work practices, and site activities.
  • Assess workplace conditions and practices for compliance with Ventia’s SHEQ Management System and relevant legislation.
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for SHEQ and Rail Safety across the Sydney Airport Rail Link contract.
  • Prepare and deliver SHEQ communications, safety alerts, and legislative updates.
  • Ensure operational alignment with the Rail Safety Management Plan, HSE Management Plan, and Environmental Management Plan.
  • Administer the Rail Industry Worker (RIW) system to support competency and compliance management.
  • Support supervisors and team leaders in the implementation of SHEQ systems and processes.
  • Coordinate contractor assessments and facilitate employee site inductions.
  • Assist with return-to-work programs and injury management procedures.

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).
  • Familiarity with rail safety regulators and relevant industry standards.
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (mandatory).
  • Solid experience in WHS or SHEQ-focused roles.
  • Solid understanding of Rail Safety legislation and accreditation requirements.
  • Experience within the Australian rail sector is a must.
  • ICAM Investigator qualification (desirable).
