Tasks

-Support the development of a high performing practice team. -Support the delivery of high-quality client outputs, ranging from the estimating of direct and indirect costs, to the assurance of estimates provided by others both internally and externally. -Support estimating service delivery, focusing on producing estimates from feasibility through to detailed design. -Work across projects of different types and sectors. With estimates ranging high-level order of magnitude costs to producing first principal bottom-up estimates. -Provide team input to continuously improve the quality of our deliverables to clients. -Utilise benchmarking data from multiple sources to independently form and assess estimates. -Support in win work activities (bids, proposals, etc.) to grow our portfolio. -Support your chartership aspirations with RICS, ICE, AACE, ACostE or similar. -Support the development of a high performing team, supporting your regional leadership team. -Support the drafting of basis-of-estimate documents for submissions. -Support peer review of outputs from other team members to deliver continuous improvement and guidance. -Support internal review and quality assurance processes for client deliverables which follow internal governance procedures.

What You Bring

-A clear understanding of the role of consultancy organisations on projects, including the ability to be adaptable to work across multiple sectors and disciplines and have the drive to want to learn new skills. -Stakeholder engagement skills including being able to work seamlessly with designers, engineers, project managers and clients. -Wider understanding of commercial and contractual requirements and the crossover to the impact on estimating or forecasting costs. -Demonstrate and utilise an advanced understanding of the typical methods of measurements and have the ability to complete full take-off independently whilst providing support to colleagues where required. -Have the potential to become a subject matter expert within our wider team -Desirable professional memberships or working towards Chartership, RICS, ICE, AACE, ACostE or similar. -In possession of, or with the capability to obtain a level of security clearance (ideal but not always necessary for the right candidate). -Knowledge of indirect costs, cost breakdown structures and techniques to analyse and assess project deliverability -Bachelor’s degree in an Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction sectors or Equivalent Work Experience. -Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of estimating specific software and generic office applications. -Demonstrate stakeholder management skills
