Overview
Estimates EPC project costs, manages take‑offs, bids, and risk for industrial facilities.

Tasks
-Develops quantity-based estimates from partial or limited data and/or information. -Monitors the scope of the project to ensure that all trades have been coordinated and a complete project is being evaluated.. -Ensures that estimates are generated in a way that allows take-offs and pricing to be traced directly back to a defining document, line item, scope of work as well as applicable bid tabs -Discerns take-off elements of the work accurately and assigns them to the appropriate items in the database, makes recommendations about how to change the standard database items to more closely reflect field conditions. -Identifies deficiencies in the RFx, Scope of Work (SOW) and drawings and implements strategies to mitigate. -Estimates the requirements for craft support labor, staff, tagged equipment, subcontracts. materials, construction equipment, indirect costs and facilities based on analyzing crew sizes for each direct craft as well as consolidated. -Solicits subcontract and vendor pricing utilizing uniform corporate structure and evaluates returned bids for completeness. -Develops risk ranging analysis for elements of the project and uses that to assign contingency. -Develops preliminary lifting plans and selects appropriate cranes and other equipment to perform the work. -Prepares bridging documents demonstrating an understanding of how historical estimated and actual costs have changed from previous estimates. -Assists the effort to generate an appropriately detailed resource loaded preliminary schedule. -Develops EPC estimates based on limited information, including generating take-offs from sketches, Plot plans and P&IDs. -Organizes the estimate in a manner required to meet the needs of the project. -Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.” -Participate in estimate, proposal and constructability reviews as well as cost and schedule saving enhancement discussions for constructability assessments, e.g., execution plan(s), installation access, manlifts, scaffolding, cranes, etc.

What You Bring
-Self-motivated enthusiastic team player willing to work/mentor with others and adopt new ideas and methods. -Good computer skills including an operating knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Sage estimating, project scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera) and databases will be an advantage. -Good basic mathematical comprehension. -Thorough attention to detail. -7+ years of field and/or office experience including a minimum of 4 years’ experience as an Estimator,Field Engineer or other related support role involved with estimating or cost monitoring. -Solid technical skills with an understanding of the various classifications of estimates and the purpose that they are intended for. -This position may require occasional travel and extended workdays. -Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects and capable of working independently. -Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to make clear and concise presentations to management. -Understands the principals of project cash flow. -Understands the need for evaluating and incorporating the team’s clarifications, and drafts/edits clarifications as needed. -Familiar with construction work and terminology. -Strong understanding of the operating process at the facilities being estimated such as refineries, terminals, power plants, mining or other heavy industrial facilities. -Ability to quickly visualize the finished product from the RFx, deliverables, SOW, drawings and other documents provided. -Ability to attend Bid Walks, collecting all pertinent information and data in order to organize, kick off and monitor proposal and estimate development through submittal. -Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education/experience in lieu of degree.
