Tasks

The General Manager (GM) serves as a key leader, strategic decision-maker, and problem-solver, responsible for the overall performance, growth, and operational success of the electrical business. This role includes managing all aspects of day-to-day operations while driving profitability, team engagement, customer satisfaction, and compliance. The GM will oversee project execution, service operations, and business development while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement in a competitive and fast-paced environment. -Be a proactive safety ambassador, upholding and promoting a culture of safety across all job sites and teams. -Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, and enforce adherence to company code of conduct. -Read and interpret construction plans and specifications; oversee accurate take-offs and bid preparation. -Develop and implement training plans to support employee growth and skill development. -Maintain full operational responsibility for profit and loss, revenue targets, and expense control. -Conduct financial and operational analysis to identify trends and proactively resolve problem areas. -Lead the pursuit of growth opportunities through relationship development, plan/spec bidding, and service expansion. -Lead and track performance through KPIs and other business metrics. -Manage and grow the electrical service business while maintaining a strong customer focus. -Conduct regular team meetings to align on goals, share updates, and foster open communication. -Provide clear direction and leadership by communicating the company’s mission, vision, and strategic goals. -Review and manage financial forecasts, budgets, and reports; ensure timely and accurate flow of operational paperwork. -Collaborate closely with other department leads (HVAC, Plumbing, BD) to support cross-functional growth. -Oversee project execution from pre-construction to closeout, ensuring quality, timeliness, and safety.

Natural and Inspiring Leader: Proven success in a managerial role with a strong desire to drive a strong safety culture and drive the business forward. -Track record of delivering exceptional customer service and building long-term client relationships. -Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment. -Effective communicator with strong organizational, time management, and delegation skills. -Deep understanding of regulatory compliance, quality standards, and safety protocols. -Strong business acumen with demonstrated success in financial oversight, forecasting, and budget management. -Proven experience in a leadership role within a residential, commercial, or industrial electrical business. -Fully understand and utilize company software systems and ensure accounting practices align with corporate compliance standards. -Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, including the ability to read, interpret, and bid off plans and specifications. -Excellent leadership and team-building skills with experience in training, mentoring, and performance management. -Electrical license required; Marion County Electrical Contractor License preferred, or ability to obtain within 60 days. -Experience managing both construction and service operations within the electrical industry.
