Overview
Design and analyze steel & concrete structures for mining projects in North America.

Tasks
-Prepare cost effective structural engineering designs from conceptual design to detail design, tender and construction in accordance with North American Codes and Standards. -Complete tasks under minimal supervision ensuring that objectives of cost, quality and time are met. -Prepare material take-off of steel and concrete. -Work directly with drafting staff in order to produce detailed drawing packages. -Prepare specifications, design criteria and scope of work documents. -Perform analysis and design of steel structures and concrete foundations for industrial and mining projects.

What You Bring
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. -Proficiency in application of North American Codes and Standards. -Proficiency in design of steel structures, reinforced concrete structures, and various types of heavy concrete foundations for buildings and equipment. -Proficiency in structural engineering design software SAP2000 and/or STAAD.Pro. Experience with AutoCAD, NavisWorks and SmartPlant would be considered an asset. -Experience in structural design engineering with experience in engineering design of mining and process plant projects. -Experienced in dealing with clients and contractors directly. -Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural engineering from a recognized University. -Familiarity with structural dynamics, earthquake engineering and FEA modelling, is considered a strong asset. -P.Eng designation, or working toward it -Proven ability to work with a team to conceptualize project layouts, and optimize designs is a must.
