Transmission and Distribution Engineer

Overview

Design and manage transmission/distribution line projects from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Design support structures and foundations for transmission and distribution lines -Prepare estimates and bill of materials -Create all design drawings required for basic small to medium scale projects -Identify pole line and duct routes for complex projects (eg. large capacity overhead and underground structures in congested areas) -Assist with existing lines inspections and produce the required reports -Develop line routes -Design and produce engineering documents associated with transmission and distribution line projects (from 5 kV to 765 kV) -Lead the preparation of service offers, studies, cost estimates, reports, as well as plans and specifications, and participate in them. -Create preliminary schematics including distribution concepts and interface plans for multi-phase projects

-Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Construction Engineering -Efficient, both at the office and the work site -Relevant experience combined with an interest in transmission and distribution lines -Strong technical writing skills -Experience with transmission and distribution lines design in utility sector and hydro power -Rigorous and ethical -Caring mindset that puts people first -3-7 years experience in a related role
