Overview

Perform economic/technical analysis and regulatory work for electricity & gas supply planning

Tasks

-Scan, print, file, and retrieve paper work -Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record -Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives -Work on complex technical specifications, energy forecasting, energy modeling, contracts, and compliance requirements. -Incorporate operational, legal, regulatory, and environmental factors in completion of assignments -Works on complex opportunities to evaluate and/or integrate new energy supply resources. -Author work products in support of regulatory filings including the application of utility tariffs

What You Bring

-Must be flexible and adaptable to changing of assignments and priorities of the Energy Supply Group -A bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. -Experience in business development or electric utility preferred -Bachelor's degree in Engineering required -Experience in electric distribution or transmission engineering, modeling and construction preferred -All NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics -Knowledge of FERC and NERC -Must have or develop a working knowledge of NorthWestern Energy supply operations -Ability and aptitude to plan work, anticipate issues, and develop solutions to meet schedules is essential -Must be knowledgeable of electricity generation, energy production calculations, and associated metrics -A master's degree in business administration, analytics, economics or related field is a plus -Demonstrate ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders -Knowledge in Project Management principles and fundamentals desired -Travel to meetings and conferences (Up to 10% travel per year) -Knowledge in project management principles and fundamentals desired -Knowledge of FERC and PURPA requirements -Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record -E or ability to obtain P.E. a plus -Possess strong computer, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills -Relevant experience may include business strategy, market research, financial analysis, statistics, and communication. -Combines engineering knowledge with communication skills to engage internal stakeholders, external stakeholders and the general public. -Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple conflicting tasks and demands
