The Role

Overview

Develop, implement, and manage site safety programs ensuring compliance and incident response.

Tasks

-Adheres to established company safety personnel and standard operating procedures and policies. -Acts as primary point of contact for all safety incidents; maintains accurate, organized, confidential case files. -Use of operational metrics to measure a variety of safety stats and/or cost performance -Leads preparation and participation in compliance audits; ensures ongoing compliance with processes, policies, recordkeeping, reporting, etc. -Drafting safety policies, procedures and/or training documents -Conducts meetings to investigate incidents, report on findings and recommend actions. -Develop, implement, and maintain Accident Prevention Plans designed for ensuring compliance with contract requirements, governing regulatory authorities and company policies. -Effectively and actively utilizes online safety records management database to manage incident, near miss and training records. -Ensure compliance with safety procedures through inspections, training and evaluations while keeping abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. -Acts as primary point of contact to advise, review and accept all contractor safety plans. -Executes data-driven programs and analyses that identify, measure, and monitor risk and safety exposures. -Executes data-driven programs and analyses that identify, measure, and monitor risk and safety exposures. Produce recommendations and implement strategies. -Operates Government and Chugach-owned motor vehicles. -Engage in frequent communication and coordination between internal staff, Human Resources, Project Management, Insurance Carriers, and Health Care Providers. -Ensures a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigates and establishes corrective actions for issues and complaints relating to safety and risk.

What You Bring

-Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision. -Up to 10% travel with the possibility of international travel for high level investigations. -Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen. -Good working skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite Programs, particularly Word and Excel -Maintains a high degree of professionalism and works well with all levels of the organization. -Valid state independent driver’s license with a suitable driving record. -Five (5)+ years of progressive experience with similar site EHS programs or; -Three (3) years of relevant experience, in addition to holding a CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification or a degree in Safety and Health. -Medically and physically able to wear a respirator. -Efficiently and effectively coordinates multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously. -Provides clear and decisive written and oral communication. -U.S. Citizenship. -Safety Management Software experience -Basic project/task management skills -OSHA 30 Certification (Construction or General Industry) -Ability to lift 50 pounds. -Ability to obtain and maintain an intelligence agency level clearance. -Current EM 385-1-1 (40) hour Certificate or obtain the certificate in first 90 days of employment -Demonstrated experience in the following: -Excellent written and oral communication skills
