The Role

Overview

Supervises traffic control crews, sets up and manages work zones for utility projects.

Tasks

-Provide crew performance feedback to Operations Management. Conduct evaluations as needed -Provide the highest level of customer service to all customers. This includes on-time arrival and well managed work zones -Maintain a consistent and unrelenting focus on safety throughout all job functions -Implement traffic control setups per MUTCD standard and applicable traffic plans -Tow and operate towable equipment -Work with management, and agencies to make adjustments to work zone requirements as needed -Complete daily Job Hazard Analysis with crew and conduct crew tailgate meetings -Drive company trucks. Deliver equipment -Lift, carry, push, pull and assemble traffic control materials in the proper order to manage work zone traffic -Work in high-volume outdoor locations with multiple interruptions throughout the day -Can establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and others -Oversee work zone set up, maintenance and tear down -Keep equipment well organized and in working order -Provide detailed safety reports on all safety incidents and or near misses -Provide clear communication and direction to the customer and general public moving or traveling near or around the work zone -Meet or exceed customer, state, federal and company expectations

What You Bring

-TCS certification by ATSSA preferred -Strong leadership skills -Frequent lifting of heavy objects, up to 50 lbs -Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor -TCT certification by ATSSA preferred -Proficient knowledge of the Cal Trans MUTCD -Strong customer service skills -Stand for long periods of time in various weather conditions, and different times of day/night -Reliable Transportation with ability to commute throughout Northern California -Must have valid driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record -OSHA 10 Certification -English- read and write fluently -ATSSA Flagger Certification required -High School Diploma or equivalent preferred -Ability to read and understand traffic control plans -Reaching, sitting, bending, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing and Vision (up close, at a distance, along the periphery) -Current IBEW membership w/Traffic Tech classification required -Stooping for prolonged periods of time -Excellent multitasking, problem solving, and organizational skills -Strong conflict resolution techniques -First Aid/CPR Certification required -2+ years in an equivalent Traffic Control role -Develop superior knowledge of work zone setup and professional traffic control responsibilities -Can work independently with minimum supervision while prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines -OSHA 30 Certification -Dexterity in the use of hand and fingers
