Maintenance Technician

Overview

Perform maintenance, repairs, and upkeep for community apartments and facilities.

Tasks

-Follow Weidner’s Mission, Vision and Values and comply with all Weidner policies and procedures as well as all Fair Housing, local, state/province, and federal laws -Clean pools as directed, monitor chemical balance, maintain logs as required by city ordinances, when applicable -Must take part in the on-call rotation, as scheduled -Prepare apartments for occupancy including but not limited to: painting, drywall repair, trash out. mechanical, plumbing and electrical repairs -Perform daily grounds maintenance of the property including picking up and disposing of all trash, pet defecation removal, maintain pet waste stations, and sweeping walkways -Perform detailed work with carpentry, drywall repairs and interior/exterior painting, etc -Ensure market ready apartments, common areas and amenities are clean and maintained daily to Weidner’s quality standards -Participate in property improvements and preventive maintenance scheduled tasks, promptly -Prompt, regular attendance; wear company dress code / uniform & maintain professional appearance at all times -Perform service requests for residents daily and timely -Perform system repairs on electrical, plumbing, boilers, hot water heaters, HVAC systems, appliances, etc

What You Bring

-Yardi and Paycom experience preferred; Willing and able to learn new software programs -Learn to distinguish when full-paint or touch-up paint is needed, as well as knowledge and ability to identify correct paint sheen and color -Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, irrigation systems, and HVAC systems -Must agree to a criminal background check and sign an agreement for voluntary drug testing -Experienced in Microsoft products preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) -Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions -Willing and able to be assigned to other Weidner properties as needed -Able to be on feet constantly for entire work shift, if applicable -Work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment and/or independently -Working knowledge of English; detail oriented, well organized -Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds/36.3 kg, climb ladders and climb multiple flights of stairs at a time -1-2 years maintenance experience required -Mechanical aptitude required -Able to give professional directions clearly in person, over the phone, email, and text -Must have access to personal vehicle and/or reliable transportation, at all times -Able to use appliance dolly, push/pull up to 200 pounds/90.7 kg -Industry designations, CAMT desired -Driver’s license, vehicle and vehicle insurance must be valid and unexpired at all times and match the country in which associate will work -HVAC, CPO, EPA certification desired
