The Role

Overview

Design and deliver rapid mechanical prototypes for DoD aircraft, including models, analyses, and documentation.

Tasks

-Utilizing mechanical lab test equipment, reverse engineering existing legacy mechanical assemblies and models to determine necessary design changes. -Generation of supporting Mechanical Engineering analyses. -Work with the manufacturing shop floor technicians to build and test generated designs. -Design and document complete mechanical integration designs, within short time frames, that meet the customer’s requirements. -Report on the status of assigned projects to the Rapid Prototype Project Lead and Chief Engineer.

What You Bring

-Minimum of 10 years’ experience to include Computer Aided Drafting to create mechanical models and assemblies, Configuration Management software such as SolidWorks PDM, and creation and management of Bills and Materials. with a minimum of 3 years in rapid prototyping. -A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution -Minimum of 5 years’ experience in generation of Structural Loads Analyses and generation of aircraft Weight and Balance Reports -Existing United States Department of Defense Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. -Understanding of US Military Aerospace, ASME, and SAE Standards as they relate to Mechanical Design. -Experience in performing Finite Element Analyses of Aerospace systems. -Experience utilizing SolidWorks to document mechanical system designs -Experience utilizing AutoCAD -Experience in mechanical system design of United States Army rotorcraft -Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, etc.
