The Role
Overview
Oversee project financials, budgets, reporting and lead accounting team for construction projects.

Tasks
-Ensure compliance with Mechanics Lien Act, holdback requirements, payment processes, contract terms, and project closeouts -Investigate financial anomalies and inquiries, providing interpretation and resolution as necessary -Develop and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring project expenditures align with financial guidelines and goals -Guide the team in preparing LEMs, invoices, and progress claims, ensuring adherence to approval processes and contract terms -Collaborate with the project management team to complete monthly management reviews and deliver accurate cost reports -Manage cost and profitability reporting for projects, ensuring alignment with key performance metrics -Provide timely and accurate financial reports and information to the Project Management & Operations teams as required -Prepare and present performance summaries and executive-level project progress reports to leadership

What You Bring
-Post-secondary business degree preferred -Proficiency in construction accounting principles and software systems -Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, along with advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) -Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines -Working knowledge of construction methods and processes -This is a Hybrid position with the requirement of 2 days or more in-office with the flexibility of additional office attendance as the business requires -Strong knowledge of contractual, legal, and commercial terms within the construction industry -Strong financial acumen, including equipment utilization, rates, capital decisions, and profitability analysis -Minimum of 6 years of experience in operational Accounting -Experience in supporting industries such as Construction, Telecom, or Manufacturing -Experience with construction administration, contract terms, and familiarity with JD Edwards is a plus
