- Attend pre-bid meetings and assist the project team in evaluating commercial proposals.
- Archive and retrieve data from electronic database for support of work.
- Attend job and construction meetings and participate in the coordination of the work.
- Coordinate design work with related engineering disciplines.
- Develop design concepts; prepare documents during the design development phase.
- Support field installation and start-up activities.
- Works with equipment suppliers/vendors to obtain the necessary information needed for design completion. Interacts with clients on a limited basis to secure scope and design intent.
- Research equipment selection from catalogues under the direction of the Project Designer/Engineer.
- Corrects and updates design documents.
- Provide limited contribution to performance reviews for assigned staff.
- Use computer-aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents. Reviews drawings and documents to ensure compliance with company design and production standards.
- Research non-routine code issues and obtain interpretations from code officials.
- Ensure acceptable levels of quality and checks for coordination of work to assure documents reflect design intent and necessary coordination.

- Proven time management skills to juggle more than one project at a time.
- Process industrial experience, especially in the Life Sciences industries, is preferred.
- Must be proficient in the use of a computer for design and understand CAD operations. General knowledge of mechanical and electrical system design. Understanding and knowledge of applicable codes.
- Customer Service experience exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills.
- 10+ years of previous design experience.
- A Technical or associate degree in drafting and/or design from an accredited technical institution or college is preferred.
