Administer the company workers' compensation program to ensure timely, accurate and effective adjudication of workers' compensation claims

Provide workers’ compensation and investigations training as requested to safety, HR, and leadership teams
Represent company in mediations, hearings, and legal proceedings with proper legal counsel as needed
Serve as the primary resource to company safety staff and site leaders in achieving workers’ compensation and safety KPI’s, including cost per hour metrics
Develop, reviews, and revises policies related to workers' compensation and transitional duty return-to-work programs and practices, ensuring continuous compliance with Department of Labor and Industries requirements, state, and federal laws
Oversee workers' compensation program reserves and evaluate TPA performance, annual reports, and contracts to identify cost savings and claims management improvements
Exercise settlement authority on workers' compensation litigation and resolve complex or sensitive claims issues

10 years of increasing responsibility in workers' compensation claims administration
Previous experience managing a TPA account
Strong teaching, coaching, facilitation, and mentoring skills
Experience with self-insured workers’ compensation programs and claims administration
Excellent listening, written and verbal communications skills
5 years of experience with workers' compensation claims administration
Deep knowledge of industry best practices, jurisdictional regulations, and claims adjudication
Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or risk management or equivalent education, training, and experience
3 years of supervisory experience over workers' compensation claims
Good interpersonal skills
Demonstrated understanding of applicable occupational safety and health regulations
Investigation training or background including claims investigation work including injured worked interviews
Ability to interpret industrial insurance laws, rules, and case law to guide adjudication decisions
