Civil Sitework Technician

Overview

Assist in civil sitework design, CAD drafting, calculations, and project support.

Tasks

-Design and support the preparation of construction plans. -Execute and adhere to quality assurance requirements. -Will learn to process survey data and assist with plans, profiles, cross-sections, 3-D modeling, and other related requirements as part of the overall bidding/construction documents. -Collaborate with other technical staff. -Perform engineering calculations, utilize computer software for analysis and design, and work efficiently with other team members for project completion.

What You Bring

-Strong oral communication and technical writing skills. -Ability to read and comprehend as-built drawings, construction specifications, codes and regulations, and technical information to develop drawings. -3D surface and pipe network modeling, Autoturn, and/or GIS experience is a plus. -AS in civil drafting or related technical program and/or -Candidate must be willing to work overtime to meet project demands. -Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines. -Ability to perform calculations and develop engineering solutions to problems with oversight from a professional engineer or supervisor. -Must possess a valid driver’s license. -1-2 years of civil engineering project experience, civil sitework preferred. -Must be able to collaborate remotely with colleagues in other offices. -Expected to understand and apply CAD standards to a variety of projects. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team to develop and present concepts. -Familiar with AutoCAD (Civil3D) and/or Microstation (OpenRoads Designer). -Experience utilizing Civil 3D software highly preferred. -Ability to prepare plans/designs with guidance from a professional engineer or supervisor. -Leadership training -Must be able to build effective relationships with internal and external client bases.
