Tasks
-Transactions: Review, assess, and challenge all material transactions from a tax perspective and ensure that tax risks and mitigations are effectively communicated to management and the relevant risk committee(s). -Contracts: Review contractual documentation from a tax perspective and provide recommendations to stakeholders in order to mitigate risks. -Drive efficiencies in tax data collection, analysis, and reporting across the group -Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals across geographies. Ensure that the structure of the Asset Solutions tax team is optimised and is appropriately resourced. -Identify, mitigate, monitor and report tax risks across the business. -Accountable for spend on external tax advisers, manage the use of advisers so that their fees come in on or under plan. -Collaborate with IT and business unit finance and tax teams to ensure systems meet requirements. -Manage effective tax rate (ETR) and provisioning during reporting cycles. -Group initiatives: Actively support the Group’s tax initiatives, such as the UAE corporate tax implementation project, the implementation of the group’s transfer pricing (TP) policies, and supporting the tax strategy across the group. -Foster a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and collaboration. -Oversee the internal and external reporting process for Group and Local requirements, including tax accounting disclosures. -Tax returns: Oversee the accurate and timely filings of UK and overseas corporate tax and other tax returns, which are prepared by team members, including interactions with tax authorities, as required. -TP: Ensure that TP policies are understood and are properly implemented in the underlying financials. Coordinate the preparation of local TP documentation, reports, and disclosures, ensuring consistency with the group’s TP master documentation. -Actively manage external advisers and their performance, resolve issues and make changes where required. -Legislation: Monitor and respond to legislative developments. -Design, implement and maintain processes to support Pillar 2 data collection, calculation and reporting -Maintain robust internal controls and governance frameworks, using Group policies and procedures -Tax planning – significant judgment is required to design and implement optimised structures which will stand up to scrutiny from tax authorities and other regulators. -Risk management - assessing complex tax risks in transactions and projects and making judgment calls as to how they are best dealt with. -Planning: Support tax planning activities e.g., recharging central costs, APA applications, new country entries, tax management of ongoing projects, etc. Proactively assess tax and TP risks and opportunities for the group and ensure these are effectively communicated to all stakeholders. -Tax controversy matters - managing tax assessments, and settlements and disputes with tax authorities so that they are concluded on the most favourable terms possible. -Oversee the review of uncertain tax treatments, deferred tax assets/liabilities, cash taxes paid and effective tax rate analysis. -Critically review the use of external advisers vs in-house resources to deliver optimised budgets without compromising the quality of deliverables, and evaluate and implement appropriate engagement strategies and fee arrangements with external advisers. -Manage tax audits and controversy matters for all Asset Solutions legal entities and branches ensuring that tax assessments, settlements and disputes with tax authorities are concluded on the most favourable terms possible. -Manage the external audit interactions. -Monitor changes in global tax legislation which could impact the Group’s tax reporting. -Business partnering: Partner with business teams to deliver commercial, practical, and forward-looking tax advice for current and prospective international operations. This covers all taxes including direct, indirect and employment taxes and may also encapsulate new country entries, strategic initiatives, ongoing contracts, corporate structuring and other ad-hoc tax advice.

What You Bring
-Practical experience and good understanding of UK and international tax legislation and working with advisers and tax authorities. -Knowledge of tax accounting systems (preferably Oracle TRCS). -Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with personnel at all levels and across functions, globally. -Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving change. -Strong understanding of global tax regimes including in the UK, UAE, Africa, India, and Southeast Asia. -Strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities. -Experience of delivering timely and accurate compliance obligations across all taxes in multiple jurisdictions. -Demonstrates the Petrofac Values and Behaviours. -Leadership skills to drive performance, deliver on objectives and develop individuals and processes. -Experience of managing the consolidated tax position and delivering Group tax reporting / consolidation and managing expectations on ETR and balance sheet tax positions in a multinational Group. -Ability to translate complex tax issues into actionable business insights. -Familiarity with ERP systems and tax technology platforms
