Building Information Modeling (BIM) Technician

Overview

Create and manage Revit BIM models, coordinate drawings, and support structural projects.

Tasks

-Managing clash detection processes between multiple disciplines and the structures models. -Developing and maintaining Revit content libraries through creation of families, documentation of standards, and maintenance and development of typical detail libraries. -Managing drawing issues and maintaining digital project files, ensuring daily housekeeping and organization. -Training staff and developing curriculum on the use of Revit, Rhino, visual programming, and computational modelling. -Providing document control including printing, exporting to DWG/PDF, and PDF file maintenance. -Setting up project models according to company standards, including coordination setup, model linking, copy/monitoring of key elements (e.g., grids, slabs), and creation of views and sheets. -Coordinating detailed model changes between structural and architectural models. -Producing BIM models and drawing/details from Engineers sketches and from scratch using architectural drawings and or concepts. -Tracking industry trends, attending industry events, and bringing techniques to improve our internal processes.

What You Bring

-Good communication skills, experience in dealing with other employees, experience working as a member in project teams, and experience delivering to external clients. -Familiarity with parametric and computational tools such as Grasshopper, Dynamo, and scripting languages like Python or C#. -A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. -1-2 years of relevant industry experience as a BIM technician working on a range of projects.
