The Role

Overview

Fabricate, weld, and repair foundation drilling equipment and maintain rigs.

Tasks

-Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed drawings to accurately fabricate parts and assemblies. -Conduct thorough inspections of welds and fabricated components to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. -Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each project. -Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and perform routine maintenance tasks. -Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding to fabricate and repair foundation drilling equipment. -Manage inventory of welding and fabrication supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely reordering. -Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and structural issues to ensure the safe and efficient operation of drilling rigs. -Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. -Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure seamless project execution. -Assist in planning and prioritizing fabrication and repair projects to meet deadlines and production schedules. -Inspect, maintain, and repair drilling rigs and associated equipment. -Utilize various metalworking tools such as grinders, saws, and plasma cutters to shape and prepare materials for welding.

What You Bring

-Valid driver’s license is required. -Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues. -Capable of standing, bending, and working in various positions for extended periods. -High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding or fabrication preferred. -Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in welding and fabrication, preferably in the foundation drilling or heavy equipment industry. -Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs). -Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and welding fumes. -Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. -Ability to operate and maintain various welding and metalworking tools and equipment. -Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques. -Strong knowledge of metal properties, welding symbols, and blueprint reading.
