Tasks

-Regulatory fuel filing reconciliation -Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public -Create and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external customers, and departments supported -May be required to work non-traditional hours -Balance Sheet reconciliations -Participate in audits and provide necessary support to comply with requests for information or response to audit exceptions -Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of performance -Participate in timely monthly close -Monthly journal entry preparation and review -Work directly with the Planning Group on a monthly basis -Preparation of monthly financial reporting packages for management review -Timely respond to all data requests

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files or small file boxes, up to 20 lbs, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. -Write effectively and understand written communications, including but not limited to email -Government, GAAP and SOX compliance -Advanced Access / database management skills -General understanding of the energy industry and familiarity with industry terminology. -Ability to accomplish specific, measurable goals, and to “see the big picture” coupled with a desire to add value to Kinder Morgan -Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job -Working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and regulatory accounting principles, including knowledge of FERC rules and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) -Speak clearly, both in person and through Teams, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully -Regulatory Reporting (FERC Form 2/3Q’s, EIA) -Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others, and maintain confidentiality -Intermediate to advanced proficiency level in Windows and Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Access and Word -Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred or equivalent interstate natural gas pipeline accounting experience -Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues -Ability to perform the required and expected duties with minimal supervision -Must be self-motivated and detail oriented -Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks, often with strict or changing deadlines -Experience with Lawson financial software, specifically the General Ledger module -Must have a complete understanding of Accounting Concepts -This position will be responsible for all aspects of a natural gas pipeline accountant for the West Region. This position requires proficiency in using spreadsheets, databases and work processing software, along with the ability to learn new programs. Candidate must be a self-motivated, flexible individual with a strong willingness to learn, accept responsibilities, tackle challenges and function in a demanding, fast-paced environment. Overtime may be required during critical times including holidays. -Ability to complete work in a prioritized and organized fashion
