The Role

Overview

Develop and refine ship structural rules, assess complex structures, and mentor junior staff.

Tasks

-Deliver complex technical assessments and provide expert advice on structural matters including composites, multi-hulls and small craft. -Present technical deliverables to internal and external stakeholders, offering alternative solutions where appropriate. -Contribute to rule development and research projects within defined parameters. -Mentor junior colleagues and support knowledge transfer across the team. -Ensure compliance with health & safety, industry standards, and internal procedures.

What You Bring

-Responds positively to learning opportunities and is comfortable stepping out of own comfort zone -Experience in technical rule development or structural assessments is highly desirable. -A degree in engineering or physical sciences, or equivalent marine qualifications. -Two to five year's industry experience or a PhD in a relevant subject -Working towards Chartered Engineer status or equivalent. -Is effective at solving problems, trouble-shooting and making timely decisions -Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills. -Communicates in a structured way and has ability to present technical ideas in user-friendly language -Is able to self-manage and prioritize tasks towards achieving goals -Membership of a relevant professional institution.
