Metering Technician

Overview

Install, program, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic/mechanical water meters for customers.

Tasks

-Respond to service orders concerning customers, including equipment change-outs, device commissioning, and system troubleshooting. -Use specific software to commission/program electronic/thermal/water meters, and remote data collection hardware, and complete all relevant paperwork associated with the assignment. -Coordinate electrician presence onsite and execute project micro-management upon completion—follow up on any new opportunities. -Partake in department workflow, stay aware of ongoing projects, and assist when necessary. -Perform other duties as required including occasional drawing reviews/updates, tenant surveys, and occasional meter reading. -Communicate with customers, contractors, and co-workers, and respond to inquiries in a timely fashion.

What You Bring

-Demonstrates knowledge of programming, testing, troubleshooting, and calibration of electronic and mechanical meters. -Strong PC skills as well as demonstrated skills in reading sub-meter drawings, diagrams, and wiring layouts. -Ability to work collaboratively with customers and vendors, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. -Valid state-issued driver's license. -An associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in electronics, computer technician, or instrumentation is strongly preferred. -Reliable team player. An organized self-starter, able to follow standard procedures, prioritize assignments, and address problems as they arise or seek appropriate help. -The employee will need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. -At least two years of related field work experience or any equivalent combination of education and work experience. -Proven proficiency in Visio and AutoCAD.
