The Role

Overview

Lead safety programs, ensure OSHA compliance, conduct investigations, train staff at two plants.

Tasks

-Proactively implements all safety and risk management programs and initiatives through partnerships with all department managers and production employees across two locations near each other. -Leads the plant safety committees and in doing so, coordinates meetings, agenda, and action items/ideas follow-through. -Interacts and establishes safe work practices with contractors. -Conducts investigations involving near misses, incidents and accidents and ensures appropriate corrective action is taken. -Ensure all facilities are compliant with OSHA standards and requirements. -Implements facility safety audits; responsible for all safety reporting/recordkeeping. -Continually monitor work environment and intervene when unsafe practices or behaviors are observed. -Serves as point person for any/all correspondence and interaction with OSHA, EPA, and City. -Analyzes positions to identify any risks associated with the job’s tasks and properly documents findings. -Develops and facilitates safety training.

What You Bring

-Demonstrated knowledge of training principles and techniques. -CSP, CIH or equivalent certification desired. -Three (3) + years of experience in a similar position. -Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. -Bilingual in English/Spanish is desired -Understanding of EPA and other regulatory requirements desired -Bachelor’s degree preferred, in Occupational Safety & Hygiene Management, Environmental Management, or equivalent. -Experience with environmental compliance and permits desired
