The Role
Overview
Repair, commission, and train on underground equipment, traveling to customer sites

Tasks
-Wears necessary safety equipment each day to include hard hats, safety glasses, proper work boots, safety harnesses and any other safety equipment needed for the assigned job. -Maintain Normets’ quality goals in the manufacturing area by reporting any non-conforming issues. Adding to the overall result by inputting ideas to the Continuous Improvement process. -Coordinates with Parts Department to complete necessary warranty paperwork. -Estimates repair costs and obtains authorization prior to beginning work for all repairs. -Coordinates with Parts Department to obtain repair items, components and information as needed. -Commissioning of equipment at various customer locations within the region (at times there may be a need to perform these duties in other areas of North America) -Finalizes repair order and completes service report in a timely manner. Coordinates with accounting Department to ensure prompt billing of all parts, service and travel time. -Travels to customer locations to complete repairs as directed. -Coordinates with Parts Department for missing items or damaged items discovered during commissioning process. Completes production report and submits to Manager, Service Cluster. -Testing and adjusting of all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components and circuits. -Completes repairs in a timely manner. -Recommends and explains additional repairs as appropriate. -Modification and/or repair of vehicle systems including: chassis, driveline, engine, transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics.

What You Bring
-Licensed heavy duty equipment mechanic preferred -Candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively -Candidate should have knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and brake systems -Education level of Grade 12 or Equivalent -Have at least 5 years of experience with underground / tunneling equipment -Be able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics -Prospective candidate must be willing and able to travel domestically and at times throughout North America -Applies knowledge and abilities to perform technical repairs according to schedule. -Act and interact professionally and effectively both within a small, dedicated team and while working autonomously, both internally (business) and externally (customers & subcontractors). -Diagnoses and trouble shoots mechanical problems with the appropriate equipment to determine most efficient course of action. -Experience in Wet Shotcreting Equipment and Process is a plus
