Review building permits with regards to regulations set by the Building Divisions
Provide excellent customer service
Assist inspectors with difficult or unusual code compliance issues and answer questions from inspectors about plan review comments.
Cultivate, foster, and maintain positive working relationships with directors, managers, supervisors, employees, and other stakeholders to gain their cooperation and support on assigned projects/assignments.
Reviews plans and specifications for projects to ensure compliance with city, State of CA, and federal laws and regulations. Provide timely oral and/or written communication detailing design and/or construction deficiencies in plans and specifications.

ICC Building Plan Review Certification Preferred
5+ years' experience in structural design and structural plan review.
E.I.T. on track to obtain PE license is acceptable.
Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment
Structural Professional Engineer Required
Must possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions
Experience/knowledge of wood, concrete, steel and masonry buildings/structures, including CBC, CRC, ASCE7, NDS, AISC, ACI318, ACI530 and AISI standards.
Experience/knowledge of wood, steel and concrete lateral load resisting systems (SMF, OMF, BRBF, SCBF, wood and concrete shear walls, etc.)
Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology
Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills
ICC Plan Review Certifications in multiple trades preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are vital
Experience with CA Codes specific to Structural design
