The Role

Overview

Lead electrical delivery on a major commercial office project in central London.

Tasks

-Efficiently plans and manages resources and workloads. -Establishes partnerships and relationships with stakeholders. -Accountable for the construction aspects of the MEP services and the management of the site environment, Programme, Health Safety & Wellbeing, Quality & Commissioning of the project. -Working within the project MEP team reporting to the MEP Lead, ensuring of compliance with Mace standards. -Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work. -Driving project close out to ensure all elements of completion are delivered to a high standard, such as commissioning, as built drawings and QA/Snagging. -Deployment of project strategic plans in conjunction with the Mace operating framework and strategic priorities, such as Prefabrication (C2P), Commissioning and Safety. -Setting of clear objectives and supporting others in completing complete tasks. -Reviewing issues to drive continuous improvement and provide lessons learned through the knowledge share process. -Implementing Commissioning strategies in line with the Mace Commissioning standards inclusive of IST approach, ATP’s and Soft Landings. -Undertaking productivity assessments -Takes responsibility for their actions and ownership when resolving problems/challenges. -Liaising and coordinating with key project stakeholders, forming strong working relationships with the Client, Consultants, Trade Contractors and other team leaders. -Directing the Quality Assurance process, ensuring that a high level of installation quality is provided and that all trade contractors and consultants follow the agreed process. -Drives high standards and ensures consistency in our approach. -Coordinating and implementing delivery strategies and programmes for all phases of the project, ensuring the key milestones, interfaces, dependencies, logistics and work sequencing are all properly considered. -Implementing programme review process with trade specialists, checking for productivity, key issues/blockers and trade to trade coordination, using digital technologies to ensure the project/package is on schedule. Identifying trends, key issues and/or critical path risks.

What You Bring

-An advanced knowledge of management process and technique to lead, manage and oversee the successful completion of the project. -Good communication skills - written, oral and listening. -Experience in the relevant construction sector. -Demonstrated track record of successful projects/contribution. -Trade/technical engineering apprenticeship or graduate development programme (or equivalent). -Able to use influence on guide and get the best out of others. -SMSTS and CSCS card. -The ability to understand the structuring and set up of site teams, able to define project requirements and undertake any recruitment required to fill the position. -An advanced knowledge of digital setting out and scanning technologies. -Proactive identification of risk and the production of mitigation plans. -Formal engineering or construction training (HNC. HND, BTEC or equivalent). -An advanced knowledge of a technical trade (Building services Engineering) including installation and testing methods, best practice and prefabrication to allow supervision, planning, and quality control of a packages or systems assigned to the individual. -Provides visible and reliable leadership; always maintains composure. -Strong analytical skills - numeric, statistical and written detail. -Accreditation with CIBSE, IET, IMechE, SoPHE, CIOB. -Able to motivate and influence others towards a desired outcome. -Proven track record in delivering projects more than £25m+ MEP value. -Proficiency in building services or a specified engineering discipline. -Able to lead in pressurised situations, making decisions and offering concise direction. -An advanced knowledge of health, safety & welfare core elements such as working from height, electrical safety, fire safety, logistics and lifting, to provide awareness and ensure application in the safe management of supply chain packages. -Understands the strengths and weaknesses of the team; allocates workload accordingly. -An advanced knowledge of quality assurance process' and & commissioning of single systems to allow full completion of their package or system of responsibility whilst assisting in the integration of systems. -Relevant bachelor’s degree and (or vocational equivalent). -Proficient knowledge of commercial management to assist the commercial teams with commercial control of a packages, such as clean up notices, good received and contract charges between packages. -An advanced knowledge of construction builds elements, including sequencing and dependencies to ensure consideration, collaboration and co-ordination with build elements. -An advanced understanding of the commissioning process including the integration of systems through Cause & Effect, BMS Functionality and IST. -Strong presentation skills; presents clearly and confidently with their audience in mind. -Innovative and adaptable; not fazed by challenges and open to new ways of working. -Understands the business strategic goals and encourages their deployment. -Effective stakeholder management. -An advanced knowledge of planning processes and management, with sufficient understanding of key construction release requirements, systems critical path, tasks/works scheduling and commissioning activities to allow for planning and control of the of a packages or systems during construction. -An advanced knowledge of other technical trades, including basic installation techniques, prefabrication and best practice to ensure consideration, collaboration and co-ordination with other systems and packages.
