  • Work as part of a project team to support the execution of fast-paced consulting projects within the commercial interiors and tenant improvement market.
  • Lead efforts in project planning, scheduling tasks, and managing multiple projects at once to meet various project deadlines and objectives.
  • Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions; Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions
  • Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
  • Document design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager
  • Provide in-process design reviews of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design, calculations, and specifications. Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering.
  • Oversee projects through construction administration phase and provide clients with solution-based communication.
  • Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
  • Lead the analysis and design efforts of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work. Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems

  • Ability to think, work, and make design decisions quickly to meet fast-paced deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of development and design
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • 4 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in the building design consulting industry with demonstrated experience in the hospitality, resort, and condo markets or equivalent specialization in multi-family housing.
  • Proficient in renovation projects to include the evaluation and re-use of existing mechanical systems.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays
  • Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required
  • Proficiency in the use of Revit Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
  • Proficient with industry standard engineering software and tools including HVAC load calculation software
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
