The Role

Overview

Sell fire protection and security services, manage leads to contracts.

Tasks

-Generate new relationships and foster existing relationships among Customer base for the purposes of continued sales. -General assistance to Accounting personnel with job set-up, monitoring of profitability, billing, and similar. -Utilize accounting software for assistance with (or general knowledge of) tracking costs, billing, Change Orders, and similar. -Acquire sales leads for new work (including installations for fire alarm and detection, low voltage, clean agents, security, and other lines of services); sell Summits’ services. -Assistance with general marketing activities and promotion of the Company. -Attend meetings—includes internal meetings (kickoff, job progress, design coordination, and as requested) as well as external meetings (coordination with Customer and other Stakeholders, Authority Having Jurisdiction coordination, design, and submittal planning, and as requested). -Communicate status of active proposals to Management. -General assistance to Project Managers and Design Department for communicating schedules, product/material information, coordination of work, and similar support. -Provide outside sales and inside sales. -Function as a face of the Company amongst our Customer base and industry, representing our identity: Professionalism, Quality, and Focus on Relationships. -Solicit all building and construction types: new construction, renovations, additions, retrofits, and similar. -Generate new proposals, follow-up on active proposals, and close sales on active proposals. -Lead the sales process from initial contact/bid invite to acquisition of contract/Notice to Proceed; initial contact may be initiated by Sales Representative or Customer (both)

What You Bring

-2 years relevant work experience in business development, or Fire Life Safety sales experience, preferred. -Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required. Reliable transportation, required. -Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Business or related, preferred. -2 years operating a computer, Microsoft Office, required. -High School Diploma or GED, required. -This individual must be a self-starter, organized, and detail oriented. Communication and follow-through are critical. -Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees, customers and board or directors. -Must be able to comply with SFS’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement
