Serve as the primary representative on-site, overseeing contractor performance and verifying compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable regulations
Coordinate with NJDOT, NJTA, municipal stakeholders, contractors, and AECOM project management
Monitor project schedule, budget, and quality metrics, proactively addressing issues as they arise
Prepare progress reports, maintain accurate records, and participate in project meetings
Ensure adherence to safety standards and environmental compliance requirements
Manage daily inspection activities, field staff, and project documentation
Review and process contractor submittals, requests for information, and change orders

Proficiency with NJDOT and NJTA specifications, policies, and construction administration procedures
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field, +6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience
NICET Level IV certification in Transportation/Highway Construction
The ideal candidates will have significant prior experience on New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) and New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) projects
Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey
Familiarity with electronic project management and documentation systems (e.g., Primavera, CapEx, NJDOT Site Manager)
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Minimum of 10 years of construction inspection and contract administration experience on transportation projects half of it in the capacity of Resident Engineer
