Tasks

-Attend networking events, “Meet & Greets,” and professional development activities with peers and senior staff -Perform accurate quantity take-offs using both manual calculations and estimating software -Collaborate with an estimating mentor to understand the bidding process for electrical construction projects -Research and analyze costs for materials, labor, and equipment -Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to identify scope and requirements -Participate in Book Club assignments to strengthen communication and leadership skills -Assist in preparing bid proposals and supporting documentation -Contribute to a LEAN project related to estimating or process improvement, culminating in a formal presentation to company leaders -Apply mathematical models and data analysis techniques to improve estimating accuracy

What You Bring

Desired Majors: Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering (Electrical/Civil), Business with quantitative focus -We’re looking for students who have shown solid academic performance — at least a 3.0 GPA in upper-division courses for your major, or a 2.75 GPA overall. -We are looking for humble and hungry, agile students who have a drive for results, a desire to learn, and who can quickly build relationships. -Professional Development: Training in estimating tools, software, and industry best practices -Technical Experience: Direct application of math skills to real-world estimating challenges -Exceptional communication skills, interest, and enthusiasm related to electrical engineering and/or construction. -Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research, or engineering internships. -Enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation on or before August 2027 -We are looking for students who are passionate about engineering and the construction industry. -Ability to work full-time for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 -Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations. -Must be able to relocate to Bakersfield, CA or Fresno, CA for the entirety of the internship.

Pay range: Pay Range: $16.00/hr. - $22.00/hr. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
