Tasks

-Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds -Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions. Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions -Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager -Provide in-process design reviews of plumbing and fire protection system design, calculations, and specifications; Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements -Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals -Lead design efforts for the analysis of plumbing, and fire protection systems. Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards -Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phase -Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication -Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects. Lead efforts in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives. Document design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress as related to percent complete and fee expended -Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in plumbing engineering. Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG -Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work. Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with plumbing systems

What You Bring

-Advanced knowledge of specialty plumbing systems (medical gas, laboratory gas, high rise, rainwater / grey water systems) as applicable based on team market focus -Engineering In Training (EIT) Certification preferred -ASPE Certified Plumbing Design preferred -3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry -Functional expertise in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the -Strong technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in -Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull -Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred -Mastery of code calculations for domestic water, waste, and vent systems -Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noise -Proficiency in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software -Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook -Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays -Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups -Attention to detail and problem-solving skills -Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required -7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry -Advanced proficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools -Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
