Tasks
-Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Award and manage subcontractors based upon the scope of work packages developed. -Develop subcontractor scope of work packages based upon the fire hazard analysis and calculations. -Perform fire hazard analysis for the site to determine hazards and appropriate active and passive fire protection schemes in conjunction with the requirements of the applicable codes, standards, and contract requirements. -Review subcontractor fire suppression and fire alarm system plans and calculations. -Provide fire protection and life safety design, analysis, construction support for power generation facilities. -Review fire barrier and penetration seal requirements for specific hazards. -Generate calculations to size water supply, fire pumps, and underground pipe sizing. -Work productively and collaboratively to meet deadlines. -Perform life safety reviews for buildings and industrial equipment areas.

What You Bring
-Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure concepts and requirements are fully conveyed to the various team members and clients in a professional manner. -Regular, reliable attendance -Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering. -Familiarity with NFPA 850 and NFPA 2001 preferred. -Travel is required (approximately 10% of the time) to meet with clients and/or job site personnel on an as-needed basis. -High level of self-discipline, motivation, ability to operate in a team environment, and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time. -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment -4+ years minimum relevant experience in power generation, industrial, or similar type projects. Individuals with more experience are encouraged to apply and will be evaluated accordingly. -Proficiency with the following NFPA codes and standards: 13, 14, 20, 22, 24, 72, 101. -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Proficiency with the International Building Code and International Fire Code. -Ability to navigate local code requirements/amendments, other NFPA standards and criteria such as FM data sheets on an as-needed basis. -Construction administration experience preferred.
