Overview

Install, test, repair and supervise electrical work on grid substations (230V‑132kV)

Tasks

-Supervise construction / maintenance staff within their working party -Receive PTW and Manage Site Safety -Move/Use Ladders/Long Objects in HV Compounds -Ensure that all staff for which you will be responsible work to the DSR and to demonstrate a strong safety culture. -Installation and testing of all plant, apparatus and cables associated with the Grid, Primary and Distribution network. -Fault location and repair of all plant, apparatus and cables associated with the Grid, Primary and Distribution network. -Use IT equipment -Supervise work undertaken by UK Power Networks contractors.

What You Bring

-IOSH Working safely -City and Guilds 2339 – Level 2 Certificate in Electrical Power Engineering (Preferred) or City and Guilds 2365 – Level 2 Certificate in Electrotechnical Craft or equivalent -Flexible and able to work in a team environment. -Must have a clean driving licence. -Oxy-propane and gas awareness training -Ability to problem solve in a practical way and able to work under pressure. -City and Guilds 2382 – Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition) -A good understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation -PASMA qualification -SMSTS competence -ECS Installation Electrical Card/EUSR SHEA Power or equivalent. -Move/Use Cranes/Scaffold in HV Compounds -MEWP operator licence -Confined space trained -Completed an approved Apprenticeship in Electrical Fitting, Cable Jointing or Electrical Installation.
