Assistant Water Engineer (Civil)

Tasks

-Support continuous improvement of asset performance analysis and reporting systems. -Provide key data and insight services to inform business decisions. -Integrate and optimise the use of smart technologies and related data. -Coordinate rolling programmes for asset surveys, monitoring, and condition evaluation. -Plan and implement data acquisition, quality assurance, and hydraulic modelling activities. -Contribute to the development of Portsmouth Water’s Asset Management System and Strategic Asset Management Plan -Mentor graduates in developing analytical systems for water auditing and asset insights. -Design and deliver asset health interventions, including deterioration modelling and condition assessments. -Design and plan capital and operational intervention programmes. -Assist with network master planning and optimisation strategies. -Support the delivery of technical aspects for medium to large projects and lead small to medium projects. -Contribute to the development of Asset Intelligence and levelling-up functions.

What You Bring

-Ability to work under pressure, whilst managing priorities -Engineering, Science or Environmental qualification (degree level minimum) -Working towards chartership with a professional body -Ability to network, establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal/external stakeholders -Member of a professional body and regularly maintain unsupervised CPD -Methodical and organised -Confident and strong communicator at all levels -Ability to challenge decisions -Clear understanding of Engineering functions in a potable water system -Ability to understand and assess numerical and statistical information -Good time management skills -Previous experience of supervising direct reports or supporting the development of junior engineers -Knowledge of Portsmouth Water and the obligations and reporting requirements as well as systems and processes.
