Tasks
-Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with key engineers and officials of other organizations and companies, which require skill in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues. -Assist with the marketing of the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients. -Drive the profitability and growth of projects. -May plan, organize, and supervise work of staff/junior engineers or technicians. -Create and analyze processes, systems and programs related to civil engineering field and related sciences and disciplines. -Offer technical guidance, review progress and advise procedural changes as required. -Receive administrative supervision with assignments given only in terms of broad general objectives and limits. Apply expert-level technical knowledge and experience to assignments. Maintain quality control and quality assurance of work produced by staff. -Make authoritative decisions and recommendations that have important impact on extensive engineering activities of the Company. -Oversee assigned projects to ensure compliance with time and budget parameters for the project. -Coordinate the preparation or develop of engineering plans and specifications; coordinate required advertising for bids; review bids and make necessary recommendations based on bids, competency of vendors and consultants and the selection criteria. -Serve as senior technical consultant to individuals within and outside the organization. -Review project development plans for compliance with codes, regulations and standards, adequacy of applications for permits, and compliance with approved plans.

-Self-reliance and ability to operate independently with limited direction. -Ability to understanding and accurately interpret financial reports and metrics. -Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). -High level of motivation and a problem-solving attitude. -Outstanding client management skills. -Strong sense of urgency in responding to constituents. -Ability to be a self-starter with strong marketing/business development skills. -Ability to work effectively with internal leaders and peers, as well as external clients. -Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. -Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required at time of employment. -Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds. -Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications and civil engineering design software such as Civil3D. -Ten or more (10+) years of experience in the land development industry. -PE license required. -Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder. -Demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented engineering complexities, determining program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guidelines for diverse engineering activities. -Familiarity with reading construction plans. -Ability to effectively manage multiple time-sensitive tasks. -Effective verbal and written communication skills. -Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. -Strong work ethic and commitment to quality. -Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and external partners. -High degree of discretion and ability to manage highly confidential information. -Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
