  • Review and evaluate Contractor’s work schedules and updates with the Project Manager.
  • Review Contractor’s monthly payment estimates
  • Assist municipality to negotiate claims for extra work/change orders.
  • Measure the quantities and observe quality of construction and prepare daily records of construction work
  • Supervise subordinate consultant staff as appropriate.
  • Record and report problems and failures to comply with contract documents and construction management requirements.
  • Careful coordination with abutters and the client, contract administration and reporting, and coordination with engineers working in support.
  • Review contract documents and construction management requirements to identify and report degree of Contractor's compliance.
  • Confirm compliance of shop drawings and other construction modifications
  • Maintain positive relationships with municipal staff and contractors.
  • Maintain, liaison and attend regular site meetings

  • Excellent public relation, written and verbal communication skills and organizational/time management skills
  • Survey experience is a plus
  • Ability to work well with contractors, engineers, municipality, and residents
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction related field
  • 10 to 15+ years of experience with horizontal water/sewer/drain and related work
  • Working knowledge and experience with interpreting contract documents, including compliance with prevailing safety regulations
  • Anticipate construction work, potential problems, progress, and other job-related conditions.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain electronic field records efficiently and accurately
  • Experience with general construction inspection policies, procedures and administrative requirements
