The Role

Overview

Ensures workplace safety and OSHA compliance for construction projects.

Tasks

-Provide technical assistance with the investigation of accidents, incidents, injuries, and/or illnesses. -Foster a team environment when advising on needed corrections -Assist in the update and maintenance of the company safety manual -Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, standards, policies, and/or procedures. -Coordinates with operating activities to provide safety training and ensures safety awareness throughout Miller Electric Company. -Plans and conducts periodic and unscheduled surveys and inspections of Miller Electric Company projects. -Conduct hazard analyses of project operations -Work with personnel to assure safe placement and job assignment -Develop and conduct risk assessments and Job Task Analyses for relevant tasks -Provides technical expertise to managers and supervisors in establishing techniques and procedures for the elimination or control of unsafe behaviors, environments, and hazards. -Assist in the maintenance of accident record keeping

What You Bring

-Ability to address and train groups of 25-30 -OSHA 30 hours within the past 3 years -Proficient in the use of Google Apps and internet navigation -Certified OSHA Outreach Trainer for the Construction Industry (preferred) -Strong technical writing ability -Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position. -Ability to work closely with all levels of Miller Electric Company -Ability to adapt to a changing work environment -Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience supervising employees engaged in tasks and work scopes similar to the Contractor Party’s scope of work to include a data center construction project -High energy and self-motivated -Must have BCSP certification (CHST or STS-C), or a BSc in Occupational Health & Safety -Ability to act independently with minimal daily direction
