Tasks
-Operates facility mechanical, electrical and other systems -Responds to routine service requests and performs preventative and corrective maintenance. -Performs work in accordance to established processes and practices. -Manages work order life cycle progressing the work form dispatched through to completion and records resolution data within service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirements -Receives, tracks, monitors and reports status of maintenance and repair work within service maintenance management database. Initiates documents to obtain formal approval of work required -Complies with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection. -Provides observations about facility, facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies and provides suggestions for enhancement and repair. -Assists in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) program. Ensures that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated, and that related documents are maintained. -Maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where required -Records resolution data within service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirements. -Assists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through manner in which work is performed and services delivered. -Ensures the manner in which work is performed is in compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and any other applicable requirements. -Participates in and assists with facility-related projects. -Performs regular facility technical and non-technical component monitoring and inspection. -Submits all expenditures on a timely basis.

-Meet the requirements for a higher security clearance. -Possesses a strong environment, health and safety mindset. Ability to perform work in a safe manner -Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/stand-by and emergency call outs as they arise -Knowledge of processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance -Demonstrate an interest in obtaining a diploma or a certificate, or be in the process of obtaining one. -Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution preferred -Building Systems Maintenance Certificate (SMC) -Minimum 3 years of facility operations and maintenance work experience -Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment -Computer literacy -Valid drivers’ license -Working towards a trade license, an asset -Demonstrated maintenance and repair skills -Basic knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) -Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair non-technical facility components -Ability to provide observations about facility conditions and deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancement and repair -Ability to research, learn, and gain greater proficiency in applying on-the-job—fire, life, and building codes and standards -Ability to read understand and interpret technical drawings and information -Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements -Working towards Building Environment Systems (BES) Operation Class 1 -High school diploma or equivalent -Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency -Facilities Technician Certification -Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification
